First Connection and Password Setup

When the connection is established correctly, the nE2 device extension will go from gray to green.
During the first connection to the device using a default password, a message will be displayed requesting to change the password.

Note:     Changing password is obligatory when first connecting to the device!

Once properly connected, expand the nE2DeviceExt. A new tree component is visible.

The nE2DeviceExt structure Once expanded, the default available containers will appear in the device tree structure:

  1. When default password is used, pop-up to change password is shown automatically. In other case to change the password:

  2. A ChangePassword pop-up window will appear on the screen
    Please enter and confirm a new password that meets the required length and character criteria

  3. After successfully changing the password, right-click on the nE2DeviceExt
    go to Actions → Disconnect.

    Note:     The device icon will change from green to gray.

  4. Right-click on the nE2DeviceExt
    go to Actions → Connect
    enter the new password in the password field.

    Warning:     If the typed password is incorrect, a popup will appear. Repeat the previous step again and input the correct password.

    Note:     The default password must be changed after the first connection to the device in device platform

  5. Once properly connected
  6. The default available containers will appear in the device tree structure:

  7. The first connection with the device is fully established!

Operation in Emergency Mode

Upon connecting to the device in the emergency mode, the following notice pops up:

In the emergency mode, the device operation is limited:

Possible Actions

When the device enters the emergency mode, take one of a few possible actions:

  1. read logs from the SD card if available;

  2. reboot;

  3. restore to defaults (using the Restore in the System context menu): remove files from the SD card (if available and formatted) excluding only files with IP, port, and credentials (libraries must be also removed);

  4. restore to factory defaults (restoring with S1 6th DIP switch): format the SD card (if available), restore default credentials, IP, mask, gateway, iFnet port.
