About Bacnet Comm: Network: Ethernet Port

If needed, you can add an Ethernet Port from the bacnet palette (see Figure 3). The EthernetPort container provides for BACnet/Ethernet communications.

Note that most JACE controllers provide two Ethernet adapters: LAN1 (NET0) or LAN2 (NET1), therefore you should select the desired one in the Adapter property, as shown in Figure 7.

Link binding is automatic to the selected Ethernet adapter of the host Niagara platform. Figure 8 shows the Ethernet Port property sheet with its Link container expanded.

As with other Bacnet network ports, the Ethernet Port has its own, independent Poll Scheduler (Poll Service). See “About poll components” in the Drivers Guide for more details. Also see About Bacnet Polling.
