Creating new, unscaled, absolutely positioned mobile Px pages

Starting with a typical Workbench view and later converting it to Mobile, you will get an unscaled, absolutely positioned graphic. If it exceeds the boundaries of your mobile device, it must be scrolled side to side to view the complete graphic.


Prerequisites:
  • Target platform is running NiagaraAX 3.8
  • Niagara Mobile is installed
  • A recent HTML5 compliant browser (issued 2011 or later), for example: FireFox, Chrome, Opera, IE (v.10 or later) and Safari.
  • Individual mobile apps licensed, as needed

Create a new unscaled, absolutely positioned Mobile Px page


Perform the following steps:
  1. Right-click target component in nav tree, select View > New View .
  2. Leave target media as Workbench PxMedia. This will start your Px page with a ScrollPane and CanvasPane as the root widgets.
  3. Switch to Property Sheet view and change the media on the Px View to MobilePxMedia. This will make your Px page accessible in Niagara Mobile
  4. Design your Px page as you normally would.
     

    NOTE: Not all widgets are supported in Mobile Px. For example, the bajaui:PxIncludes widget and kitPx:AnalogMeter widget are not supported. For a complete list of supported widgets, refer to Field editors, widgets, and bindings supported in Mobile Px
     
The Workbench graphic pasted into a Mobile Px page is unscaled and so it must be viewed by scrolling horizontally.
