The following sections illustrate possible “use case” scenarios for GPRS modem-equipped JACEs.
For all use cases, GPRS connection speeds are similar to dialup modems—typically 30 - 60Kbps download, and 10 - 15Kbps upload.
Therefore, JACE operations such as software upgrades are not recommended. Instead, a direct connection (to LAN1 or LAN2 port
of the JACE) should be used when a large transfer of data is needed.
These use cases reflect Tridium test scenarios, using Wyless as the Service Provider. A future revision of this document may provide more specific details/notes about system operation in these different examples.
