As the first stage of configuration for any GPRS modem option application, each JACE equipped with a GPRS modem option requires the following key configuration properties defined in the sections “Provider Configuration,” “Modem Configuration”, and “SMS Configuration” of its GPRS Modem Configuration platform view (or Gprs Platform Service Plugin view). See these sections:
Note that below the “SMS Configuration” section, there is also an area for displaying runtime data. For reference details, see GPRS Status and Runtime Data tabs.
In addition to the saving the configuration properties above, which typically require a JACE reboot to become effective,
Also see TCP/IP configuration with GPRS modem about not specifying DNS servers.
Refer to the NiagaraAX Platform Guide for more information about a platform connection, as well as all other platform views. Additional reference information about the GPRS Modem Configuration view can be found in this document, see GPRS Modem Configuration view.
Note that in the station running on the JACE, providing that the platGprs module is installed, there is also a “GprsPlatformService” dynamically created under its PlatformServices container. Depending on the NiagaraAX release/build level, the level of station access it provides varies. For more details,
see About the GprsPlatformService.
