The view pane can display any component view that you choose (see About views for an introduction to views). Different views of components can provide different editing options. Most component editing is done in the view pane, however, many editing functions also involve the nav tree pane as well. The following sections describe some of the basic tools provided in Workbench for editing components. These tools are context–sensitive and may be used in several – but not all – views and with several – but not all – types of components.
