To create an “alarmable” control point, you must add an appropriate alarm extension to a control point and configure it to define your alarm condition requirements:
To set up alarm conditions for a control point
Just as there are different types of control points (refer to Types of control points), there are different types of control point extensions (refer to Types of point extensions). When adding an alarm extension to a control point, you must add the proper type of extension to match the point, as described
in Types of alarm extensions.
To set up alarm conditions for a control point, do the following:
Add an alarm extension to the control point property sheet as described in To add an extension to a component property sheet view:. The alarm extension must match the control point type (for example, BooleanChanegOfStateAlarmExt fits with a Boolean Writable point – and a EnumChangeOfStateAlarmExt would not).
Configure the alarm extension properties as desired. Refer to the About alarm extension properties for details about the alarm extensions properties.
The Alarm Enable property options are not selected by default. You must select an AlarmEnable option in addition to setting your alarm extension
properties.
