Extension process overview

Extensions are found in several palettes, including alarm, control, history, and kitControl. You typically add an extension by either:

A point’s property sheet lists extensions below its normal (frozen) properties. You can expand each extension to view and modify its properties, as shown in Figure 110.

If a point has multiple extensions, they are processed in the same top-to-bottom order that they appear listed in that point’s property sheet. You can re-order extensions in a point—from the top of the point’s property sheet, or on the point’s icon in the Nav sidebar, right-click and select Reorder.

NoteIf needed, you can also select and expose extension properties (for linking convenience) on the point’s glyph by using the Composite editor of the parent point. For more details, see About composites.
