Changing Lon Working Domain Index

Description

This version of AxWizards provides mechanism to change the Working Domain Index of Local Lon Device and all the devices present under LonNetwork. This feature comes through a component called HonLonNetExt.

Usage

HonLonNetExt is a Niagara MixIn on LonNetwork. This component gets added when any XL10 or XL15C is added to the station. It can also be added under LonNetwok manually from the lonhoneywellAXWizards palette. There can be upto one HonLonNetExt component under each LonNetwork.

This component provides an action "Set Domain Configuration" that allow to change the following:
1. Working Domain Index
2. Domain Length and Domain ID
3. Always In Zero Length Domain
4. Update XL15C Poll Points

Any Lon Device can belong to one or two domains. If two domains are configured one would be used as working domain or default domain that will be used for Lon Communication. The other domain can be left unconfigured or can have zero length domain with no Domain ID.

This action when executed will update the Domain Index and Domain ID of Local Lon Device and Domain Index of all the other Lon Devices under the LonNetwork. It also optionally allows to update Domain Index information present in the XL15C Poll Point configuration. XL15C Poll Point configuration gets updated as part of a Niagara Job. Hence the process of updating the information should be considered complete only after this job successfully completes.

After executing this action, the following steps have to be executed:
1. Commission all Lon Devices excluding Local Lon Device.
2. If XL15C Poll Points are updated, then download all XL15C configurations.
3. Download Lon bindings from Lon Link Manager view.

Note:
Niagara by default uses Domain Index zero. If the Working Domain Index is changed to one, then whenever a new device is added to the Station under LonNetwork, check and ensure that the Working Domain Index of that device is same as what is present in the Local Lon Device. This component tries to update the Domain Index of newly added Lon Devices if their Neuron ID is 00 00 00 00 00 00.

Application

This feature comes in handy when a LonSpec or Rapid Zone commissioned job is upgraded to use WEBs system. Niagara Ax Station running on PC or JACE can talk with XL10s and XL15Cs commissioned by LonSpec or Rapid Zone without having to re-commission all the devices. LonSpec and Rapid Zone uses the following settings:
1. Working Domain Index: 1
2. Domain Length: 1
3. Domain ID: 2C (Seen as 44 in LonSpec)
4. Always in Zero Length: true

A WEBs Station can communicate with devices commissioned through LonSpec or Rapid Zone after changing the domain configuration to what LonSpec or Rapid Zone used using HonLonNetExt component.
