Configuring Excel 15C RemoteDI

RemoteDI objects are used to extend the digital inputs of the Excel15c controller. One RemoteDI object is required for each of the four digital inputs available per RIO.

The Excel 15 controller supports a maximum of 12 RemoteDI objects.

Procedure

  1. Drag a RemoteDI object from the palette and drop it on the wiresheet.
  2. Create a link between the RemoteDI object and any internal algorithm (for ex. Output1 Link of RemoteDI to DC Ao Digital In Link of logic loop) through the Link dialog.
  3. Click on OK to save the link.
  4. These objects need to be linked with RIO devices on the network.
  5. Right click on the RIO device in the network and select "Link Mark" option.
  6. Right click on the RemoteDI object on the Excel15C's wiresheet and select "Link from RIO" option.
  7. Select the appropriate source and destination slots - "nvoRemoteDigIn_0" on the RIO device and  "nvi Remote Sensor " on the RemoteDI object.
  8. Click on OK to save the link.
  9. Go to Lon Link Manager and select the "Bind" option to download the bindings to the devices.

Note:

Any change in the configuration needs to be downloaded to the controller. Until then, the objects would be marked as "Stale".This is an indication that these changes need to be downloaded to the controller.Invoke "Download" to download the configuration changes to the controller.
