XL15C Configuration

Configuring Excel 15C RemoteAi

RemoteAI objects are used to extend the analog inputs of the Excel15c controller. The six analog inputs from the RIO device are made available for use within the Excel15C through a single connection between the RIO and the RemoteAI.

The Excel 15 controller supports a maximum of 3 RemoteAI objects.

Procedure

  1. Drag a RemoteAi object from the palette and drop it on the wiresheet.
  2. Create a link between the RemoteAi object and any internal algorithm (for ex. Output1 Link of RemoteAI to Input1 Link of mathfunction) through the Link dialog.
  3. Click on OK to save the link.
  4. These objects need to be linked with RIO devices on the network.
  5. Right click on the RIO device in the network and select "Link Mark" option.
  6. Right click on the RemoteAi object on the Excel15C's wiresheet and select "Link from RIO" option.
  7. Select the appropriate source and destination slots - "nvoRioAi" on the RIO device and  "nvi Rio Ai" on the RemoteAI object.
  8. Click on OK to save the link.
  9. Go to Lon Link Manager and select the "Bind" option to download the bindings to the devices.

Note:

Any change in the configuration needs to be downloaded to the controller. Until then, the objects would be marked as "Stale".This is an indication that these changes need to be downloaded to the controller.Invoke "Download" to download the configuration changes to the controller.
