Settings windows

These windows configure communications from the local system to one or more remote stations. The window you see depends on the station: Supervisor or remote controller.

You access this window when you select a station in the Station Manager - Database view and clicking the Settings button (Image ).

Property Value Description
Fox Enabled true or false (default) Turns Fox communication on (true) and off (false). Fox communication does not provide encryption or server authentication.
Fox Port number (defaults to 1911) Specifies the port for Fox communication.
Foxs Enabled true (default) or false Turns Foxs communication on (true) and off (false). Foxs communication provides data encryption and server authentication using the TLS (Transport Layer Security) protocol.
Foxs Port number (defaults to 4911) Specifies the port for Foxs communication.
Foxs Only true (default) or false Indicates if the station supports only Foxs (true) or both Foxs and Fox communication (false).
Foxs Cert text (defaults to tridium) Identifies the TLS server certificate to use for the station.
Tls Min Protocol drop-down list (defaults toTLSv1.0+ (default)TLSv1.1+TLSv1.2 Selects the minimum TLS to use. Change from the default if your network requires a specific version.
Time Sync Enabled true (default) or false Enables (true) and disables (false) time synchronization between a station and its subordinate. You would change this property from the default if the relationship between stations no longer exists.
Time Sync Status text, defaults to {ok} Shows the status of the latest time sync. This property is not available on a Supervisor because the Supervisor does not get updated when a time sync occurs. If there is a problem with the sync, then a fault cause displays.
Time Sync Server Name text In a Supervisor station, defines the IP address of the Supervisor (default). In some cases you may need to edit this field to be the Supervisor host name. In a subordinate station, this property is available in case you need to change Supervisors, if there is trouble resolving the host name automatically during a join, and to report errors.
Time Sync Port number (defaults to 37) Identifies the port for synchronizing the time. A subordinate port must match its Supervisor port.

NOTE: If you change this number, be sure to change the Supervisor and all subordinates. Failure to match port numbers results in errors that are reported in the Time Sync Status property (after a few seconds).

Tunneling Enabled true or false (default) When licensed, this option appears and allows you to enable (true) or disable (false) tunneling.
Proxy Authentication When Tunneling true or false (default) When licensed, this property restricts tunneling to only stations that are under the proxy server’s Niagara Network. When this option is used, the required syntax for the targeted host includes station name instead of IP address.
Only Tunnel Known Stations true or false (default) This added security option affects both Fox and HTTP tunneling. This property applies only if the station is configured as a tunnel (proxy server).false attempts a tunnel connection to the target IP address given in the tunnel ORD. true, attempts both Fox and HTTP tunneling only to a station that exists in the proxy server's NiagaraNetwork, where tunnel ORD (Fox) or URL (HTTP) syntax uses the target station’s name instead of its IP address.
