Restoring a controller station from a distribution file using the web UI
A distribution file is used to upgrade only the software (the platform did not change), or to upgrade to a new controller
that is the same model as the old controller. Upon restore, the system automatically re-encrypts the stored keyring to the
key material file that is unique to each controller. This ensures adequate security for all encrypted passwords. This procedure
works for a Supervisor or a controller station.
Prerequisites: You have a distribution file backup of the station. You are using the web UI.
- Log in to the platform, and click .The Backups view opens.
- Click Restore.The Restore Options tab opens.
- Click Choose File and browser to locate the distribution (.dist) file.
- Click Save.The system restores the station.
