Importing the root certificate into the JAVA Control Panel is necessary to use Java WebStart. Disclaimer: this software may
function differently from what is described here.
Prerequisites: You are working in Windows on a PC. Your root certificate is available either in the User Home folder or on
a thumb drive.
- Click the Windows Start button and open the Windows Control Panel.
- In the All Control Panel Items list, double-click Java.
The Java Control Panel opens.
- Select the Security tab, and click Manage Certificates (lower-right).
- If necessary, select
Trusted Certificates from the drop-down list.
- To add the new root certificate, click Import, navigate to the root certificate, select it, and click Open.
The certificate appears in the list.
- To complete the import, click Close and OK.
