Discovering and assigning attributes is an important part of successfully importing personal records.
Perform the following steps:
- From the main menu, select , double-click Ldap Network, click the Ldap Server tab and double-click the Ldap Server row in the table.
The Ldap Server view opens.
- Click on Attributes tab.
LDAP Attribute Manager view opens.
- To discover attributes from the LDAP Server, click the Discover button (
).The
Discover window opens.
The Object Class identifies the group of personnel records to import from the LDAP server.
- To manage the Object Class List, click add (button), edit (button) or delete (button).
- To discover, select the object class attribute (for example, "organizationalPerson" or "User") and click Ok.
- The discovered attributes are displayed in Discovered pane.
- Select a discovered attribute and click Add (button) (
).
- To add the attribute to database pane, fill the following details and click OK:
- Display Name cannot be changed. This remains as it is in LDAP server.
- Data Type provides two options
String or Binary.
- Mapped O R D selects
Person or PersonInfo or Badge. Last Name is the mandatory attribute.
- Is R D N selects
true or false from the drop-down list.
This adds the discovered attributes to the database.
