This procedure configures a typical door mechanism that locks upon a loss of power.
Prerequisites: The door to configure has a card reader with no keypad, a fail-secure electric door strike, a door sensor with
alarm notification and a request to exit for shunt alarms only; it does not unlock. A schedule indicating when the door is
unlocked (for normal business hours) exists.
Perform the following steps:
- Navigate to .
- Double-click the module to which the door and its reader are connected.
The Remote Reader Module tab opens.
- To associate the reader with the door, set
Enabled to true and click the Doors tab.The Doors tab opens.
- To give the door(s) more descriptive names, click Manage Devices, select
Rename and click Ok, select the door and click Ok, type in a name and click Ok.
- Click the hyperlink to the door view.
The Readers tab opens.
- To give the reader a more descriptive name, click Manage Devices, select
Rename and click Ok, select the reader and click Ok, type in a name and click Ok.
- Click the Strike tab and configure its properties according to the screen capture using the company’s Unlock Schedule.
Schedule Operation requires a schedule so that the system can identify the first validation, which triggers unlocking the door.
The Door Lock Output value depends on the hardware configuration.
- Click the Sensor tab and configure the properties according to the screen capture.
The Sensor Input value depends on the hardware configuration.
- Click the Exit Request tab and configure the properties according to the screen capture.
The Request-to-Exit value depends on the hardware configuration.
- To save the configuration, click Save and test the door.
