Changing the default values of lexicon keys in the Lexicon
Editor customizes the user interface. This procedure documents how
to update the value of lexicon keys and how lexicon keys appear in
the action menu.
Workbench and station should be running.
All points have default names. This procedure explains how
to override the default value by showing an example of changing the
name of a Boolean point using the lexicon keys.
- Click .
The Lexicon Tool view opens.

- Do one of the following:
- From the View Selector menu in the upper right corner, select Lexicon Editor.
- From the View Selector menu, select Lexicon Report. select a Lexicon language, locate a module
in the table and double-click it.
The
Lexicon editor view opens with
a list of existing keys.

For example,
to change the display name of a Boolean point, select the Lexicon and select the control Module. Scroll to find the BooleanPoint.displayName key in the Lexicon Editor view.
- In the Value property, enter a name
for the Boolean point, for example,
Fan switch and
click Update Value.
The red dot next to the key changes to green.

- Click the save icon (
) in the toolbar.
This creates (or updates) the control.lexicon file under your !lexicon/en folder.
- Restart Workbench.
The new value replaces the old default value.
